Grammy’s 2024

Jon Batiste, boygenius, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift en Billie Eilish krijgen shout-outs in verschillende categorieën bij de Grammy’s. Denk aan Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, je kent het wel.  Universal Music Group, die gigant in de muziekwereld, scoort Grammy-nominaties voor hun artiesten zoals Jon Batiste, boygenius, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Coco Jones en Billie Eilish. Ze domineren bijna elke categorie.

De Global Classics & Jazz-labels van Universal Music Group vegen 16 nominaties binnen, inclusief Album of the Year, Record of the Year en Song of the Year voor Jon Batiste. Hij pakt 6 nominaties, na zijn 5 overwinningen bij de vorige GRAMMY® Awards.

Boygenius is in de race voor zes Grammy’s als band, plus een extra nominatie voor Best Engineered Album. Lana Del Rey gaat vijf keer de strijd aan, Olivia Rodrigo pakt er zes in categorieën als Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album en Best Rock Song. Billie Eilish doet het met vier nominaties voor haar Barbie-nummer “What Was I Made For?”. Coco Jones krijgt er vijf, waaronder “Best New Artist”.

Nieuwkomer Samara Joy, die al Best New Artist won bij de 2023 GRAMMYs, scoort nu weer met een nominatie voor Best Jazz Performance met “Tight”. Haar nummer “Lush Life,” in elkaar gezet door Kendric McCallister, is ook genomineerd voor Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.  Arooj Aftab, een gewaardeerde Grammy-winnaar, haalt twee nominaties binnen voor Best Alternative Jazz Album (“Love in Exile”) en Best Global Music Performance (“Shadow Forces”). En dat allemaal met haar trio-opname met Vijay Iyer en Shahzad Ismaily, op Verve Records.
